When children suffer from abuse and neglect, the first response is to remove them from their families.  Yet separation can bring more pain and suffering when used as a “quick fix” that fails to address the complex causes of many family problems.

Services to Children in their Own Homes (SCOH) is a child welfare program that provides intensive, in-home services as an alternative to institutional placement.

IFSI has been protecting children from abuse and neglect by strengthening families through SCOH services since 1985.  Each year, over 400 families and 2,000 children participate in IFSI’s SCOH program, making IFSI the largest SCOH provider in the city of Philadelphia.
